Acura NSX ready to play in Super Bowl

Four years after their last Super Bowl appearance, Acura is ready to return to the big game with a new ad featuring their upcoming super car, the NSX.

Leila Cesario, Acuras national advertising manager, said that, "We want to come back and really demonstrate our commitment to the brand." Cesario also added that 2016 marked the 30th anniversary for the automaker in the U.S., and for that reason the "timing made sense".

Its believed that the brands "values, North American roots and future direction" will be key points in the new spot. However it will not include Jerry Seinfeld or Jay Leno, who both appeared in Acuras 2012 commercial.

According to CBS, a :30 second spot would cost upwards of $5 million - which sounds steep, however is expected to reach more than 114 million viewers.

Jon Ikeda, vice president and general manager of Acura, said, "As the Acura brand continues to gain momentum and the next-gen NSX super car is about to make its market debut as the pinnacle expression of Acura performance and prestige, the Super Bowl is the perfect place for Acura to make a powerful brand statement to one of the largest viewing audiences in American history, and one that is incredibly attentive to advertising."
